Contested Divorce Long Island: Further Court Appearances
The Court will schedule status conferences on a regular basis. They tend to be every six or eight weeks. The purpose of a status conference is so that the attorneys can report back to the Court as to the progress that the parties are making in resolving the issues. Often, as discovery progresses, and as time moves on, issues begin to resolve. Because the Court is always seeking to resolve the issues, the parties are usually required to be at each status conference. The Court is always seeking a voluntary resolution, and your presence at that conference is important so that your attorneys can make commitments on your behalf.
